Dr. Jeffrey Chemelewski DVM
Dr. Chemelewski graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. His special interests include internal medicine, surgery, and diagnostics. His personal interests include photography, golf, skiing, and fitness. Dr. Chemelewski and his wife Mary share their home with one cat, "Tiger". Their daughter Kelsey, graduated medical school at Creighton University in 2015. She is currently doing her residency specializing in pediatrics in Utah.
Dr. Christine Sherden DVM
Dr. Sherden began practicing at Fox Valley Animal Hospital after graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990.
She not only cares for cats and dogs, but enjoys caring for exotic pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and ferrets.
Dr. Sherden is married to Ken, and has a daughter, Carissa. The rest of her family includes her 2 dogs, and 4 cats.
As well as spending time with her family, she enjoys walking her dogs, gardening, playing piano, and teaching Awana at her church.
Dr. Leah Litchfield DVM
Dr. Leah Litchfield graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She enjoys participating in rally obedience with her pets along with reading, watching movies, and cooking. Her husband Jake, who also graduated from the University of Illinois, is a principal in Huntley. Jake and Leah have a 2 beautiful & very clever daughters, Elena, born in 2010 and Vivienne, born in 2015.
Dr. Kathryn Golden, DVM
Dr. Kathryn Golden is a Crystal Lake native, she is excited to be back in her home town working. She attended veterinary school at the University of Illinois and completed a private practice internship in North Carolina. Dr. Golden is passionate about client education, and takes a team approach to patient care. When not at the clinic, Dr. Golden can be found at the stable where she enjoys riding her horse Spider. Other favorite hobbies include cooking, hiking with her dog Mazi, and watching movies.

Dr. Jennifer Boonstra DVM
Dr. Boonstra graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Since then she has primarily specialized in zoo, aquatic, wildlife, and exotic animal medicine. She has a special interest in One Health related issues, and completed a Masters in Public health at UIC. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine and also obtained her acupuncture certification from the Chi Institute. She is excited to be working at Fox Valley Animal Hospital and see dogs, cats, and any exotic pets you may have.
Dr. Jerrold Michaels DVM
Dr. Michaels, after graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1958, founded the Fox Valley Animal Hospital in May of 1959, He and his wife Marian, have two married daughters and five grandchildren. Their household did include at one time; Siamese cats, and they raised Cairn Terriers for 25 years. Current interests include: swimming; William Shakespeare; The Great Books Discussion Group; working on his home computer; and his five grandchildren.
Dr. Michaels retired July 21, 2015.
